Inspiring Young Minds: Applying for a grant

Who can apply?

Our funding is for schools and charitable organisations that work in schools based in Kent or East Sussex.

  • Charities/CICs may apply for work delivered in up to 5 named schools.
  • Schools benefitting must be located within East Sussex or Kent, including Medway Towns but excluding London Boroughs with Kent postcodes.
  • Applications may be submitted by a SENCo, must include full costings and anticipated outcomes and be endorsed by the Head Teacher or Deputy Head Teacher. To enable the Bedgebury Foundation to distribute funds fairly, it is important to show there is a need for support, that it will make a difference to your pupils, and that the proposal is the right way forward.
  • Projects supporting post 16 young people will only be offered grant where specialist support is required for young people with a high level of need. We are unable to support projects offered by universities or higher education colleges.

For applications to be considered, you will need to provide:

  • Relevant background information about the profile and needs within your school
  • Potential benefits a grant may make to your pupils
  • Full costings of the project
  • Downloaded documentation supporting your application
  • Endorsement from Head Teacher or Deputy Head Teacher

How we will prioritise grant applications

We are expecting this fund to be oversubscribed. To assist with decision making, priority may be given to work in schools that meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Operating in an area where we have funded less applications in the past (priority districts for this year are: Rother and Eastbourne in East Sussex and Medway, Swale, Folkestone & Hythe, Thanet and Dover in Kent).
  • Small rural schools.
  • Single form entry schools.
  • Have not previously received funding from Bedgebury Foundation.

Still have questions?

If you have an idea for a proposal for the fund and you would like to ask us about it before applying please do get in contact.
